-> -> -> Materials Control System
Materials Control SystemState Enterprise "Admiralteyskiye Shipyards" is the oldest ship-building yard in Russia founded on November 5, 1704 by Peter the Great. Currently, the shipyard is one of the leading Russian builders of surface vessels and submarines for both civil and military purposes. From the slipways of SE "Admiralteyskiye Shipyards", more than 2500 ships have been launched, including the first Russian nuclear-powered vessel "Lenin".
Project Goals
The main goal of the project SE "Admiralteyskiye Shipyards' Materials Control System" was to enhance performance and efficiency of the use of material resources - primary products, materials, consumables and purchased items.
Project Description
The main focus of the project was designing and implementing an information scheme for material requirement planning management within the enterprise. In parallel, business process reengineering was carried out in compliance with the overall corporate information model.
During the implementation of the project, the following tasks were addressed:
- Identifying primary products, materials and equipment requirements
- Procurement and supply
- Assessment of the quality of work undertaken by suppliers
- Material resources management
- Inventory management and assessment
- Inventory storage facilities management and control
- Material resource accounting in production
A separate task was export/import and validation of data from data files within the Integrated Computer Network (more than 700 000 records).
Project Deliverables
According to experts, the use of the "Materials Control System" decreases almost by half the value of non-standard inventories as a result of more accurate planning of materials resource requirements and managing their use in production. Less "frozen" money means more current assets.
The second, equally important, deliverable of the project was the creation of conditions for the implementation of Phase II of the "Management Information System" of SE "Admiralteyskiye Shipyards".
