Sukhoi Design Bureau

"Sukhoi Design Bureau" is the developer and manufacturer of the best fighter planes ( "SU-30", "SU-37") and sporting planes (e.g. "SU-31"). "Sukhoi Design Bureau" implements the full production cycle from designing to manufacturing airplanes using the best technologies available in the Russian aircraft industry.

Project Goals

One of the major goals of the project is to implement a tool for efficient and accurate book-keeping, financial and management accounting based on processing source documents. The main purpose of this project was to support of decision-making that is critical to effective management of the enterprise. In the future, this approach will facilitate the "implantation" of the system into the system of international accounting principles (IAS, GAAP).

Project Description

The project was aimed at developing and starting trial operation by late 1998 of the following modules of the integrated corporate information management system: statutory accounting, inventory accounting and asset records.

The decision to assign a priority status to the development of accounting, management and financial accounting functions was made in the last quarter of 1997 following 6 months of successful commercial operation of the information system "Personnel-Labor-Payroll" developed by LEAVES company.

At the inception stage, the following tasks were addressed:

Terms and definitions to be used and clarification of their meanings.
Review of business processes supporting the implementation of corporate subsystems and functions to be computerized.
Development of specifications for documents involved in the implementation of business processes, including reporting requirements (statutory, day-to-day and statistical reports), specifying intended recipients and time intervals.
Identification and analysis of standards and reference information.
Identifying the range of functions preformed by the existing systems and the volume of accumulated historic data.
Analysis of the possibility of transferring data from the existing systems into the new one in terms of feasibility, data sets involved and the volume of data to transferred.
Analysis of the computational capability of the Client (software, hardware, network/ communications equipment) to decide on the possibility of their use within the system being developed.

Security and confidentiality requirements.

Requirements for system users, including training requirements
